At home, surrounded by his loved ones, our much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, Clifford John Zimmerman, 82, passed away July 23, 2000, after a truly courageous 25-year battle with cancer.
Born April 28, 1918, in Salt Lake City to Clifford Jesse Zimmerman and Dewetta Peake Zimmerman. Attended Salt Lake City schools and the University of Utah.
Married Eleanor Stephenson June 2, 1941, in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
He has been the loving father of four children, Craig Zimmerman (RaNae), Mary Hutchings (Brent), Marsha Calder (Douglas), and Kerry Marshall (Kuhn). All reside in Salt Lake City except Kerry, whose home is in Portland, OR.
Cliff has been a great sportsman and sports lover all his life. He was a gentle man and all who have known him have been blessed by his kindness and his integrity. He loved and supported the Brighton MIA girls camp.
Cliff and his wife opened Zim's, Inc., 1950, and became pioneers in the Craft Industry. They have received many awards for their contributions to the growth of the industry. They were given The Hobby Industry of America President's Award, 1996, and inducted into The Hall of Fame for the HIA, 2000.
In addition to his wife and children he is survived by a brother, Donald Zimmerman, 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grand-children.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to Margaret Buss, his Hospice nurse for her kind and loving care during the past weeks.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wed. July 26, at the Garden Heights LDS Ward, 2226 E. Fisher Lane (2935 S,). Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tues. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
