DENVER — Kevin Brown pitched eight innings of three-hit ball and Gary Sheffield hit his major league-leading 34th home run Monday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 4-1.

Brown (10-3), who limited the Rockies to one hit in eight innings last Wednesday, struck out five and walked one.
