NEWTON, Cache County — A 22-month-old boy died Sunday, one day after family members found him lying face down in a tiny pond.
Jonah Noble, Logan, was pronounced dead Sunday at Primary Children's Medical Center. Family members found him in a decorative landscaping pool about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The toddler and his family were visiting some relatives in Newton, and the boy wandered away from the group, Cache County Lt. Kim Cheshire said.
When the boy was located, family members began CPR. Rescue crews stabilized the child, who was transported to Logan Regional Hospital. He was then taken by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center, Cheshire said.
Cheshire said the incident appears to be an accidental drowning. An autopsy will be conducted.
