Linda Arlene Turpin Christensen- her long struggle for life came to a peaceful end July 24, 2000. She was our faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was able to celebrate her 70th birthday and her Golden Wedding Anniversary this year.

Linda was born in Fairview, UT Feb. 24, 1930 to Randal LeRoy and Leona Richenbach Turpin. Her father and stepmother, Lois Frampton Turpin, raised her until she married LaVoy S. (Chris) Christensen July 3, 1950 in Salt Lake City, UT.

Linda retired from the Salt Lake City Water Department after over 25 years of service as a dispatcher. As a young mother, she survived breast cancer. It led her to volunteer innumerable hours in the Reach to Recovery cancer program and fostered a love for bowling, which started as post-cancer therapy. She loves reading, team sports, and travel. She was a member of the LDS Church and was always volunteering her time to good causes. She cherished her family and was happiest when she was with them.

Survived by her husband; three sons and one daughter: David (Karen) Christensen, Kathy (Gary) Duncan, Jerry (Karen Jo) Christensen, and Ron (Maryann) Christensen; 16 grandchildren; her brother and sisters: Randal (Marion) Turpin, Lois (Keith) Martin, Camille Bradshaw, and Jean (Alan) Sterzer. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepmother, and sister Una Loy Keith.
