SALT LAKE CITY-- Arnold Ray Terry, 81, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2000 in Salt Lake City.

Arnold was born in Alpine, Utah on Sept. 20, 1918 to Ellis Ray Terry and Janie Elizabeth Hutchnon. He mar-ried Rose Terry on June 29, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from American Fork High School in 1936. He was employed with Union Pacific Railroad as a Conductor for 38 years. He also served as a Corporal with the 748th Railway Operation Battalion working as a brakeman and a switch Forman, from April 1944 to March 1946. He was honorably discharged and received the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He is survived by one daughter, Shawna (Mark) Paterson of Sandy, Utah; two grandchildren, Wade and Cole Paterson, also of Sandy; brothers, LaDell Terry of American Fork, Utah, La Grande Terry of Richfield, Utah; sisters, Phyllis DeLong of Orem, Utah, and Jean Walker of Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died December 23, 1993, and also his parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 29, 2000 11 a.m. at the South Morgan Cemetery. The funeral will be under the direction of the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Utah.
