Five appearances by the Jazz on NBC are included on the 2000-2001 schedule released Thursday by the NBA, whose season opens with a 13-game slate on Oct. 31.
Utah plays one of those Halloween-night games, facing the Los Angeles Clippers at the Delta Center in their season-opener.
The Jazz's 82-game schedule includes several lengthy homestands, including a five-gamer in November (Orlando, Chicago, Dallas, Denver and New Jersey), a five-gamer in December (Toronto, Vancouver, Golden State, San Antonio and Milwaukee) and, the longest of the season, an eight-gamer in January that includes visits by both the defending Eastern Conference-champion Indiana Pacers (Jan. 9) and the defending NBA-champion Los Angeles Lakers (Jan. 13).
The Jazz's longest trip of the season is their annual pre-Christmas journey, a six-game affair that starts with a Dec. 15 visit to the New York Knicks and ends Dec. 23 at Milwaukee. That is part of a holiday stretch in which they play 10 of 12 on the road.
Utah's scheduled appearances on NBC include home games against Phoenix on Jan. 21 and San Antonio on Jan. 27, and visits to Sacramento on Feb. 18, Phoenix on Feb. 25 and Minnesota on April 15.
The Jazz end their season on the road, playing at Phoenix on April 18 in a game scheduled to be cable-televised by both TNT and TSN.
