Etta Stowell Dunford, age 75, passed away peacefully July 25, 2000, in Salt Lake City.
She was born April 11, 1925, in Lewiston Utah, to Thomas Jefferson and Zaloma Bright Stowell. Etta graduated from Logan High in 1943 and married William E. Dunford on August 1, 1945.
Etta raised her family while operat-ing a beauty salon in her home. Her clients became lifelong friends. She never hesitated to pack up her equipment and drive to the home of an ailing friend to do her hair or even to the mortuary after a friend's passing to make sure their hair looked just right for their final appearance.
Etta's special gift was teaching children. She was happiest when surrounded by them. She was unequaled as a storyteller and could keep the rapt attention of even the youngest child.
She loved every child she came in contact with.
Look for Etta in the "Tall Timber", for it is there that she will rest, surrounded by her father, mother and other loving family
Etta is survived by her husband, William E. Dunford, of Salt Lake City; two sons, Wm. Bailey of Farmington, UT, and Rick S. of Park City, UT; one daughter, Beckie Adamson of Washington, UT.
