SUNNYSIDE-- Arnando R. (Dugie) Tollis, Sr., age 86, died July 26, 2000 in Price.

He was born Sept-ember 17, 1913 in Progentro, Italy to John and Laura Tollis. Married Lillie Garcia, October 6, 1934 in Lexington, Nebraska. Member Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Resident of Sunnyside since 1947, where he was very active in organ-izing softball and baseball in the early 1950's through the 1980's.

Retired member U.M.W.A. Kaiser Steel Local #9958, where he served as president. "Dugie" was one of the original founders of the Kaiser Steel Credit Union. He loved fishing, hunting, bowling, dancing, pinochle, New York Yankees, Notre Dame Football and Lillie's cooking.

Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lillie Tollis, Sunnyside; two daughters and one son: Betty and Mike Valdez, Murray; Fern Wilkerson, Moab; Doug and Flora Tollis, East Carbon City; six grandchildren: Ricci, Tamara, Doug, Mary, Michael Ann and Michael Douglas; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sister, Fern Stilwell; four brothers, Lee, Keno, Tee and Alfred Tollis; special pet, McGee. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother Curp.

Funeral Mass, Saturday, July 29, 2000 10 a.m. Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon. Vigil service Saturday 9:30 a.m. at the Church in East Carbon. Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral Home daily from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Committal Service: Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
