Non-indigenous missionaries temporarily moved out of Fiji

SHARE Non-indigenous missionaries temporarily moved out of Fiji

Because of continuing civil unrest in Fiji, missionaries and mission leaders who are not Fijian citizens have been temporarily relocated to New Zealand. Missionaries native to Fiji will remain and continue their work under the direction of local priesthood leaders in areas of the island unaffected by the recent disturbances.

President Roy G. Bauer will direct the work of the Suva Fiji Mission from temporary offices in Auckland, New Zealand. In addition to Fiji, the mission also includes New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Kiribati. Missionaries on these islands are not affected by the unrest in Fiji and will continue to serve as usual.
