RENO, Nev. (AP) — High winds rushed through a carnival outside the Reno Hilton and sent a tent canopy into the air. Six people were injured, one seriously.

A woman was hit in the head Sunday afternoon by a concrete block that was used by a vender to hold down the tent. The concrete flew into the air along with the canopy. The woman was listed in serious but stable condition at Washoe Medical Center.

Other people were treated at the hospital for scrapes and bruises suffered when they were hit by flying debris.

The high winds also toppled booths and damaged merchandise at the carnival.
