Delegates to the national conventions were asked: Regardless of who wins in November, which issue should be the president's top priority in 2001?

Democrats:

Health care: 30 percent

Education: 29 percent

Economy/employment: 16 percent

Republicans:

Education: 21 percent

Taxes: 13 percent

Economy/employment: 11 percent

The AP questionnaire was based on interviews with 1,831 out of 2,066 Republican delegates and 3,568 out of 4,338 Democratic delegates.
