MURRAY — A man remained in LDS Hospital's intensive care unit Saturday after he was stabbed in the chest, allegedly by a woman for whom he was providing care.

Brent Morris, 34, worked for a company that had provided care to a 33-year-old mentally challenged woman, said Deputy Peggy Faulkner of Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office.

On Friday before 10 p.m., the woman, who lives at the Fairway Apartments near 1000 West and 3900 South, allegedly became angry with Morris because he would not give her ice cream, Faulkner said.

Morris was stabbed in the chest with a butcher knife and was taken to LDS Hospital. The woman is in Salt Lake County Jail, Faulkner said.
