Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 28, 1912, Rose Mugleston Gibbs passed away on July 27, 2000 in Huntington Beach, CA.

She had been married to the late Dr. Richard Worthen Gibbs and was the beloved mother of three, grandmother of six. She had also recently celebrated the birth of her first great-grandson and was a cherished aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews in Nevada, California and Utah.

Rose, an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, began her mission in England, and after the beginning of World War II returned to the states to complete her mission. Throughout her lifetime she dedicated herself unselfishly to service within her community. In her youth she was active in the Young Women's Program. She also had served as her church organist and pianist in all the wards that she participated in throughout her lifetime, most recently in Las Vegas, where she moved after her retirement from Adams Accounting Firm in Long Beach. She also served in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple for 10 years in the extraction program and was an active member of the Relief Society.

Rose Mugleston Gibbs is survived by her daughters, Rosemary Engelbrecht of Huntington Beach, California and Georgia Gibbs of Mill Valley, California, and her daughter-in-law Connie Gibbs of Fruit Heights, Utah. Her son, Richard Charles Gibbs, passed away in 1982.

A graveside ceremony is being held Monday July 31, 2000 at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mortuary, 4471 Lincoln Ave., in Cypress, California where she will be interred next to her late husband. There will also be an Open House for friends and family at the home of Ben and Maria Luebke on September 23, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
