Beloved mother and wife passed away July 23, 2000 after a long illness.

Born June 16, 1945 in Leadville CO to Bennie Earl and Mattie Virginia Kistler. Married Phillip Hurtado Oct. 28, 1969 in Las Vegas, NV.

Virginia graduated from East High and enjoyed working for the State of Utah until the birth of her only child Crystal Lee. Virginia then devoted the rest of her life to her family and animals. Her love for her daughter and animals was endless, and her patience never-ending.

Her greatest ambition in life was to be a writer, which she achieved when her first full length novel was published in 1994. She was also a landscape and wildlife artist. Virginia was a collector of antiques and enjoyed their restoration. She has left a legacy of beautiful things to remember her by.

Virginia was loved by all who knew her, including most animals wild and tame. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survived by her daughter, Crystal; husband, Phillip; and brother, Bennie Earl, Jr.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Aug 3, at Memorial Estates, 5850 S. 900 E., Murray, UT 262-4631.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

I love you mommy, and I will miss you every day until I am to see you again. Your loving daughter and best friend, Crystal Lee.
