Laura Mackay, 37, of American Fork died July 28, 2000 from pulmonary fibrosis while waiting for a lung transplant.
Born Dec. 23, 1962 to Walter S. and Grace L. Mackay and grew up in Rupert, ID. She grad-uated from Minico High School and earned an Associ-ates Degree from Ricks College.
Laura worked as the Human Resources Director for Soren-sons, Inc. and en-joyed her career and the friendship of her associates. She was an artful trainer and a teacher both at work and in her church callings, especially as a missionary and Relief Society President. Laura was known for her wry wit but even more for her appreciation of the good humor she found in friends and literature.
She was a careful observer and found comedy and beauty in life and in the lives of family and friends. She was an avid reader and published author. As her physical orbit became confined she used a wide breadth of literature and music to expand her vision. Her work in ceramics, needlework, tole painting and crafts gave expression to a talent for transforming raw materials into works of art. She was sensitive, insightful, and loyal. She was and is a wonderful daughter, sister, friend.
