SHARE Obituary: Violet Naomi Cox Braithwaite

Our wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Violet Naomi Cox Braithwaite, died of natural causes July 1, 2000.

Born Oct. 28, 1910, a daughter of Walter and Mary Ellen Cox, West Provo ("Fort Field"). After graduating from Provo High School she completed her bachelors degree in music at the McCune School of Music in Salt Lake City through the University of Utah.

For many years she played the organ in Pioneer and Sunset LDS Wards and taught private piano lessons to young and old alike. She enjoyed various callings in the LDS church. Her faith and zeal in the gospel were very strong. Many were affected by her devotion in doing good to the "down trodden" and fellow co-workers. Her great joy in life was her eternal family.

She married Leonard R Braithwaite in the Salt Lake LDS Temple April 21, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1994. They had five children, Dale, Lee, Ruthmary, Kathleen and Rosemarie. Their grandchildren number 30, and the great-grandchildren number 66, all of whom survive her.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thurs. July 6, at the Pleasant View 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 1060 E. 2400 N., Provo. Friends may call 6-7 p.m. Wed. at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 E. Center Street and at the Chapel, one hour prior to the service. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
