David Grauer has been named administrator of Intermountain Health Care's Cottonwood Hospital and the Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, often referred to as TOSH. He replaces Douglas Fonnesbeck, who has been named IHC's community liaison for the 2002 Olympic Games.

For the past three years, Grauer has overseen the oncology, laboratory, radiology, transplant, dialysis and infectious disease departments at Alta View, Cottonwood and LDS hospitals. Before that, he was executive director of IHC Health Services to Business, which operates five WorkMed occupational health clinics and provides other services to local employers.

Grauer holds master's degrees in business administration and health service from the University of Michigan, where he also earned a bachelor of arts degree in history. He has served administrative fellowships with IHC and the Henry Ford System's Health Alliance Plan in Detroit.
