Alfred Saunders Furse, age 79, passed away June 26, 2000 in Kenmore, WA.
Born May 17, 1921 in West Jordan, Utah, the son of Alfred C. and Clarissa Saunders Furse. Graduated from Jordan High School in 1939. Married Vallene Alexander May 17, 1946. He was well known for his dancing skill and served for several years with Virginia Harris as the West Jordan Stake Gold and Green Ball Dance Directors. Helped organize and served as president of the West Jordan Jaycees and the Utah Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Alfred and Vallene moved to Seattle into their "Moorland" home where he served as Northwest general manager for Wallpaper Incorporated including Alaska, Washington, Montana, Idaho, and Hawaii. He became a charter member of the Construction Specification Institute with responsibility to write and enforce wall covering specifications and served in that capacity for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife Vallene; brothers, Bernarr, Glen, and Grant; sisters, Gladys Lundberg, Pleasance "Jackie" Skinner, , Afton Parkinson and Ann (Betty) Johnson. He was preceded in death by brothers George (Pearce) and Charles and by a sister Patricia, "Pat" Cardall.
