The $20 million building boasts six-floors and covers 122,000 square feet, the largest museum of its kind in North America.

During the first phase, replicas of 12 different dinosaurs and 30 ancient reptiles will be on display.

Visitors can take in a movie at a 350-seat Iwerks Extreme Screen theater, shop at "Findings" or eat in the "Expedition" cafe.

A relief model of a Tyrannosaurus Rex on the outside of the building is some 35 feet tall and can be seen 2 miles away.

Owners and design teams have visited similar U.S. museums to make sure displays at the Lehi facility are unique.

Proposed programs include lectures by prominent scientists, field camps, digs and overnight camps inside the museum.
