The picture we showed our CTR-6 class was one most Primary teachers would recognize: a boy standing in a beautiful light-blue body of water, ready to be baptized. "This represents one of the first ordinances," we said to the little 5- and 6- year-olds. Before we'd even formed a question, our bright-eyed Mike, started saying, "Bath . . . bath."
My first thought was that it did look a little like a bath! Then it seemed more likely he was struggling to form the correct sound for the first syllable of "baptism." He finally got out his whole answer, proving me wrong again. "Bath-tism," he announced, confident and triumphant! — Dean and Helen Cauthers, Forest Grove, Oregon
