TOOELE-- Dorothy Mary Blackstone was born March 20, 1913 at Chinook, Montana, daughter of Donald LeRoy Blackstone and Sarah McKibbin. Early education was in Chinook, Montana. Married Max Kidd Proctor, Aug 4, 1930 at Havre, Montana, later sealed in Salt Lake Temple in 1973. They immediately moved to Tooele, Utah where Max had a job at a local lead mine at Bauer, Utah. She graduated from Tooele High School and attended Utah State University for a year in 1935, after which they moved back to Tooele.
She was Relief Society Work Director for 15 years and also volunteered with crafts at Tooele Valley Nursing Home for 10 years. They were the parents of eight children; two died in infancy and daughter Judy Houghton expired in 1992.
Survived by sons, Donald K., Bruce, David and Kenneth Max; and daughters Patricia Lou Hawkins and Shirley Fay Brough; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 18 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 11, 2000 at 11 a.m. Tate Mortuary where friends may call one hour prior. Interment in the Tooele City Cemetery.
