Fluoride cost not exorbitant

SHARE Fluoride cost not exorbitant

I would like to respond to the complaints of the "high cost" of fluoride for children. My children's dentist prescribed sodium fluoride 1.1 for them. I purchased 500 tablets for my three children for $8.99 (cash price; I did not present insurance information to the pharmacist).

A rough estimate puts that at slightly over six months worth of fluoride, the approximate cost being $1.50 a month. With three children I pay approximately 50 cents per child per month (about the cost of one candy bar per child).
