COLLEGE: University of Virginia, 1987-91 . . . Third player in ACC history to score more than 1,500 points and post 600-plus assists.

ON THE JOB: Undrafted out of college . . . Played for Greenville Spinners (Global Basketball Association (1991-92) . . . Signed as free agent by Jazz (Sept. 4, 1992); spent three seasons in Utah (1992-95), two as role player and one as John Stockton's primary backup . . . Also signed as free agent by Cleveland, Miami, Portland, Seattle and, last season, Detroit . . . Signed by the Pistons on Nov. 13, 1999, then placed on the injured list due to a strained groin. Played first game for Detroit last Nov. 26 and played in every game except one during the rest of the season, averaging 4.7 points and 1.9 assists in 13.6 minutes per game, shooting .422 from the field, .413 (33-for-80) from 3-point range and .860 (80-for-93) from the free throw line . . . Led the Pistons in free-throw percentage and ranked second in 3-point accuracy. Had 11 double-digit games for the Pistons, including season-high 14 points with five assists vs. Charlotte on April 7 . . . Has appeared in 32 career NBA playoff games, averaging 2.1 points and 1 assist in 6.9 minutes per game.
