Last time I checked, 4:15 p.m. was family-programming time on television.
As I flipped the power on my TV, I was angered to find my 5-year-old son looking at a preview of Madonna's new video. When did pole dancing and strip dancing become common on prime-time TV? Is it necessary to make a phone call or write an e-mail for this kind of concern? Doesn't anyone protect the public anymore?
I feel like I need an Internet-type XXX filter on my regular-program guide and television set. If you can't screen the material before you put it across the screen, maybe you had better put time and rating guides in the TV Guide and let each individual have the option of when not to turn on the set.
