CIRCLEVILLE, Utah - Phyllis Haycock Simkins, 80, of Circleville, Utah, passed away August 12, 2000, in St. George, Utah due to complications follow-ing surgery.

Born March 5, 1920, in Circleville, UT to Shepherd and Nellie Vera Dalton Haycock. Married Allen L. Simkins Dec 4, 1939, in Circleville. The marriage was solemnized April 13, 1963, in the St. George LDS Temple. He preceded her in death, Jan 15, 1994.

Phyllis was the physical fitness director of the Circleville LDS Ward for over 25 years. She also served in the primary presidency, young women's program, junior Sunday School, ward librarian, magazine director, and was a relief society teacher. She was an ordinance worker in the St. George LDS Temple for five years, member of the Piute County Kitchen Kuties Band for 28 years, and was an avid biker and hiker. Phyllis climbed to the top of Mt. Timpanogos with her son at age 65. She loved the outdoors and mountains and being with her children, grandchildren and friends.

Survived by her children, Pamela S. (Vern) Robison, Panguitch, Dr. Allen F. (Susan) Simkins, Ogden, Philip H. (Vicki) Simkins, Spanish Fork; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; brother, Steven Mack (Sue) Haycock, Northville, MI; and sister, Betty Craven, Billings, MT. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Hal Haycock, Francis Haycock, Van Haycock.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thurs. Aug 17, in the Circleville LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the chapel 7-9 p.m. Wed. and 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to services. Burial, Circleville Cemetery. Funeral directors, Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, UT.
