Richard Albert Feinauer, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away on Friday, Aug. 11, in Crawford, Colorado after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Richard, affection-ately known as Dick, was born March 6, 1930, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Albert Ernest and Anna Rosa Goeckeritz Feinauer. He was the first of six children. The family, after two years, moved to Brooklyn, NY, and then to Salt Lake City in 1941, where Dick attended school, graduating from East High School.

He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Dick worked in the transportation and sales industry, which took him to several western states, including Utah, California, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado.

Dick and his loving wife, Josephine Scherrer Crook Feinauer, were married on December 21, 1973 in Durango, Colorado, and they retired together and have lived in Crawford, Colorado since 1991, enjoying family and friends.

Dick enjoyed working with people and was active in the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Development Council, and the Kiwanis Organization in Glenwood Springs, CO, and the Elk's Club in Durango, CO.

He enjoyed the beautiful outdoors, and was an avid and skillful fisherman, always sharing his catch with his family and friends. He also enjoyed working in his yard, which he kept lush, green, and well manicured at all times.

After Dick was diagnosed with leukemia late in 1999, he was determined to continue living life to the fullest, which he continued to do, with the loving support of his wife, Josephine, until it was his time to go.

He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine; children, Brenda Lee Pease (Vic); stepchildren, James Crook, John Crook (Martha), Joni Beed (Alan); and his children from his previous marriages, Christy Joy, Jody Ann, Janis Marie, Melissa, and Celene; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Elaine Wright (John Bevan), Darlene Duffin (Ray), and brother, Ted. Preceded in death by his father Albert and his mother Anna; sister, Verda, and husband Royal A. Poyner; and brother, Wayne Owen Feinauer, who was killed in action during VietNam War.

A Memorial Service for Dick will be held at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Hotchkiss, Colorado, on Friday, Aug. 18th at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
