PROVO, UT-- Miriam Rasmussen Jones returned to her Heavenly home August 15, 2000, her loving family there to greet her.

She was born March 9, 1917 in Provo, Utah, the youngest child of Albert and Annie Rasmussen. Sisters Lenore (Hutchings), Allie (Jex) and brother James were her close companions.

Graduating from Provo High School in 1936 and later from Brigham Young University with a degree in Home Economics, her sewing and cooking skills were enjoyed by all. She taught at junior high schools in Heber City, UT and West Jordan, UT during World War II.

Miriam married her college sweetheart LaVar Jones. Surviving the war years and several moves around the country, their marriage spanned nearly 60 years. During this time she lived 34 years in Billings, MT and later in Sun City West, AZ. She enjoyed being a homemaker, taking pictures, traveling, and experiencing different cultures. A lifelong member of the LDS Church, she was a dedicated teacher, sang in the choir, and gave service to others.

Survived by her husband, and children Pamela (Stan) Cromar, Colorado Springs, CO; Claudia (Scott) Evans, N. Salt Lake City, UT; Becky (Ray) Humpherys, S. Jordan, UT; Michael (Dottie) Jones, Orem, UT; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Beloved "Min" will be remembered by all those who loved her and were so loved by her.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 21 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel located at 575 S. 400 W. Orem, UT. Friends and family may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, UT and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.
