Gardening classes at Thanksgiving Point

Wednesday, Aug. 23: The garden talks at Brigham Young Historic Park at North Temple and State Street will feature a lecture by Tom Hill on "Water Efficient Garden Design." The program begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public.

Saturday, Aug. 26: "Healthy Hints for Healthy House Plants" is the topic of this week's free Saturday gardening class at Thanksgiving Point. Time is 11 a.m. Call 1-801-768-4930.

Topics of upcoming Saturday gardening classes at Thanksgiving Point include "All About Orchids" Sept. 2; "Fall Plantings" Sept. 4 (a special Labor Day class); "Everlasting Garden" (a demonstration on creating arrangements from your garden using branches, leaves, berries and dried flowers) Sept. 9.
