America's Freedom Festival's 21-day celebration has concluded for another year, and the Board of Trustees, Executive committee and hundreds of volunteers wish to express their appreciation to the citizens and businesses of Utah County for their support this year.
Starting on June 14, Flag Day, and running through the Stadium of Fire production on July 4, more than 475,000 people participated in one or more of the festival events.
The festival's anchor events, the Balloon Fest, Grand Parade, Arts Festival, Picnic in the Park and the Stadium of Fire, were all a great success because of the participation and support received from the community.
As a nonprofit organization promoting a community festival, America's Freedom Festival Inc., is proud to produce this annual celebration of our nationhood and community spirit. However, the success of this community event is related directly to the generous support received by corporate sponsors, friends of the festival and participants in the revenue-producing events. This support makes it possible to provide more than 25 of the 32 events, which are free to the public.
We appreciate the public support of the more than 250,000 people who lined the streets for the Grand Parade on July 4, making it Utah's largest attended parade. We also appreciate those who attended the spectacular sell-out performance by Alabama at the Stadium of Fire.
Based on community support and budget demands, we are already planning America's Freedom Festival 2001. We will try to have the traditionally expected events and activities, as well as many new surprises as part of next year's celebration of America's birth.
Thank you for your support this year and for helping us make America's Freedom Festival one of the nation's greatest Independence celebrations.
