Maxine Jensen West, 86, of Pleasant Grove passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2000.

She was born October 25, 1913 in Richfield, Utah to Claude James and Chloe Washburn Jensen. She married Charles William West on June 25, 1938. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. She grew up in Richfield and atten-ded school there. She graduated from the Salt Lake County General Hospital with a degree in nursing and received additional training at the San Francisco General Hospital in 1936. She returned to Utah and worked as a registered nurse at Cottonwood Maternity, Salt Lake County, and American Fork Hospitals.

She was an active member of the LDS church serving in a variety of callings. Her greatest joys were her family and her garden. She was an avid sports fan, and a great observer of current events.

She is survived by three children: Barbara (Darwin Eggli) West, Salt Lake; Charles (Vickie) West, Sandy; Robert (Nancy) West, Pleasant Grove; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include two brothers: Claud Jensen, Brentwood, CA and James Gordon Jensen, Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister Jenni.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 21, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Orchard Ward Chapel, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and on Monday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
