Keep the champagne on ice.

Iowa's Ross Gload led off the bottom of the 10th inning with his 11th home run of the season to give the Cubs a 4-3 win over the Salt Lake Buzz Tuesday night in Des Moines.

Gload drove a 2-2 pitch from David Hooten (1-1) to the opposite field over the left field wall to salvage the final game of the series for Iowa. Gload also drove in a first-inning run with a two-out single and another in the third on a two-out double.

Lefty Brian McNichol (3-8) shut out the Buzz on one hit over the last three innings to pick up the win.

Salt Lake trailed 3-0 going into the seventh inning when Matt LeCroy and Casey Blake hit back-to-back homers off starter Vicente Palacios to close to within one. Brendan Donnelly came in, and with one out Luis Rivas blasted the game-tying round-tripper to left.

The Buzz have Wednesday off before opening a four-game series in Omaha Thursday night. Their magic number remains at two.
