OLYMPUS (0-0) AT SKYLINE (1-0)
WHEN: Thursday, 7 p.m., Skyline
ABOUT THE TITANS: It's been awhile since the Titans have had a piece of The Rock. Coach Mike Miller had some gaps to fill, but he's counting on some underclassmen to fill those holes.
ABOUT THE EAGLES: The Eagles have won 22 straight contests and are poised for another win Thursday. Coach Roger DuPaix is concerned about his team's intensity after beating a tough Kahuku, Hawaii, club last week. He thinks his team could be vulnerable.
PLAYERS TO WATCH: Skyline: QB Steve Tate, RB Matt Cannon. Olympus: QB Cameron Nelson; LB Nate Herrscher.
NORTHRIDGE (1-0) AT ALTA (0-0)
WHEN: Thursday, 7 p.m., Alta
ABOUT THE KNIGHTS: May still be suffering from their early exit from the 1999 playoffs at the hands of Alta. Mario Westbrook is a load at running back and had a pair of TDs in Ridge's opener with T-Ville. The Ridge also lost starting QB Jeff Kusuda late in the first quarter.
ABOUT THE HAWKS: Coach Mitch Lunak said he has many untested players that have some varsity experience. Losing RB David Anger to injury for the season won't help out matters. They are picked to finish third in Region 3.
PLAYERS TO WATCH: Northridge: RB Mario Westbrook, DB Ali Prathan. Alta: QB Ben Williams, LB Cody Bruening.
