First Security and Wells Fargo banks will eliminate ATM fees for cash withdrawal at any of the banks' combined 6,700 ATMs nationwide.
The two banks are in the process of merging, and expectations are that the merger will close in October.
Bank officials say that eliminating the fee requirement will give customers in states where the two banks operate more convenient access to their money. First Security customers also will be able to use all Wells Fargo ATMs in 16 states where First Security does not have ATMs.
First Security has 222 ATMs in Utah, and Wells Fargo has 29 here.
