SANDY — A Sandy man has been charged with three counts of sodomy of a child, a first-degree felony, in connection with a series of incidents involving a 12-year-old boy who allegedly had sleepovers at the defendant's house.
Charges filed in 3rd District Court Friday state the boy slept at the house several times between July 1 and Aug. 4.
In addition to sodomy charges, the man is being charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child, a second-degree felony. If convicted, he faces up to $10,000 in fines and life imprisonment for each of the sodomy charges, and a $5,000 fine and up to 15 years in prison for each charge of sexual abuse of a child.
