The Salt Lake Buzz suffered a rare afternoon loss Sunday as they fell to Omaha 5-3 at Rosenblatt Stadium. It was only the fourth loss in 21 day games for the Buzz this season.

Starter Jason Ryan (8-2) gave up a pair of home runs before being lifted in the seventh inning with an elbow problem. Pitching coach Rick Anderson said that Ryan was taken out for precautionary reasons. Aaron Guiel blasted a two run blast off of Ryan in the second to put the Golden Spikes out in front 2-1. J.P. Roberge followed in the third inning with a solo shot.

The Northern Division champion Buzz, now 6-6 on their road trip, open up a four game series in Edmonton Monday night.
