PITTSBURGH, Pa. — More than 30 members of the Pittsburgh 1st Ward, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Stake, offered service July 22 at the Homewood cemetery; founded in 1878, the cemetery has 72,000 graves. Many of the headstones at the site had been toppled, lying face down, or were in disrepair.

Church members reset 25 gravestones, including a three-piece monument, topped with a 6-foot-high granite obelisk.

"The event was successful in every way, so much so that everyone wants to do it again," said Donald L. Gibbon, who coordinated the project.
