Cedar Fort - Edna May Elton Strickland, 93, of Cedar Fort, Utah, passed away on Aug. 26, 2000.

She was born on July 26, 1907 in Manning, Utah. Edna was the ninth child of Rachel Ault and William P. Elton. She married James B. Strickland on June 17, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. They were married until the death of James, January 2, 1974.

Edna grew up in the town of Cedar Fort. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in a variety of callings. Edna's greatest joys were her association with family and friends. She enjoyed attending all activities her family participated in. She enjoyed making crafts and hand work. These articles were freely given to family and friends, and these gifts are treasured by all who received them.

She was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and often talked of her opportunity to go to a game. Trips with her family were always an enjoyable time.

Edna is survived by her five children: James Duane and Kenneth Lee (Coleen) Strickland of Cedar Fort; Loyde B. (Linda) Strickland, Bluffdale, Utah;

Edna LaRae (Dale) Castagno of Moran, Wyoming; May LaRee (Carl) Stewart, Lehi. Edna has 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nine brothers and sisters, a great-grandchild, and a son-in-law.

Funeral services will be held in the Cedar Fort LDS Chapel, Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000 at 11 a.m. 22 East Center St. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening August 29th, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi, and Wednesday at the Church one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Cedar Fort Cemetery.
