ZION NATIONAL PARK — A man died after falling 10 to 15 feet near the top of Angel's Landing Wednesday afternoon.
Georg Sender, 63, Illertissen, Germany.
At noon, Sender was making his way back to an Angel's Landing trail after hiking off-trail. As he neared the trail, he fell and struck his head, a National Park Service news release stated.
Several emergency medical technicians and a Swiss emergency room doctor were nearby and provided immediate medical care.
The body was removed by helicopter and counselors were on scene to provide assistance to witnesses and family. Sender had been traveling with Rotel Tours of Germany, the release said.
