Helen Virginia Jorgensen Bean, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 81, passed away after a short illness August 28, 2000 in Salt Lake City.

She was born August 22, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ernest Fredrick Leroy Jorgensen and Laura M. Emelia Denstad. She was married to Harvey K. Bean on March 31, 1939. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 2, 1948. Harvey was the light of her life, and her eternal companion. He preceded her in death September 5, l987.

Helen loved people and enjoyed working as a sales clerk at ZCMI and JC Penneys from l965 until she retired in 1992. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a teacher in Young Womens and as Sunday School Secretary.

She enjoyed the company of her friends at ZCMI, in the Butler 1st Ward, and at the Millcreek Retirement Center. She was generous in helping family members and others in need. She was very proud of her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments.

Helen is survived by two sons and one daughter: H. Kim (Nedra) Bean, Carson City, NV; Brian E. (Mari) Bean, South Jordan, Utah; and Lauralee (Robert) Thomas, Paradise, Utah. One sister, Bonnie Landvatter, Sandy, Utah. Fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter Judy V. Bean Byington.

Funeral services will be Friday Sept. 1, 2000 12 p.m. at the Butler First Ward 2695 E. 7000 S. Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call Thurs. evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary 10600 S. 1700 E. Sandy, Utah and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the services.
