Don’t ‘standardize’ students

SHARE Don’t ‘standardize’ students

If it is not too late, I fervently plead with the Utah Task Force for Educational Accountability to stop what it is doing and think about the consequences of trying to make schools accountable for standardizing students.

Why do you not realize that it is impossible to shape students to fit a common mold? Great harm will come from this.

You have a chance to put Utah on the map as the leader in educational accountability through performing one simple act: announce to teachers, parents and all citizens that schools will henceforth be held accountable for nurturing the unique talents, gifts, abilities and interests of each amazing child. This is a mission that is possible. It will be a midcourse correction that will make a big difference.
