Salt Lake City police were looking for four men Thursday morning involved in a home-invasion robbery.
Police said the four, one of them armed with a machete, kicked in the door of an apartment at 316 S. Cheyenne St. (1520 West) and demanded money from one of the occupants.
Lt. Jim Jensen said the victim was hit several times in the face and back of the head. He was taken to Salt Lake Regional Medical Center. He was in stable condition Thursday with a broken jaw and a broken arm.
Another occupant of the home was slashed. Police did not say if he was taken to the hospital.
Investigators said the four men also held the machete to the throat of a neighbor who tried to see what was going on.
Police do not have a motive for the invasion, but Jensen said there was "strong evidence of drug trading in the apartment."
