Gov. Mike Leavitt appointed a Weber County man to the Utah Transportation Commission this week.

Ken Warnick replaces Dan Eastman, who was named to fill a vacancy in the state Senate last month. He will represent Davis, Morgan and Weber counties.

Warnick, a vice president at IMC Kalium Ogden Corp., is active in civic and business organizations. He was a chairman of the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce and president of the Mount Ogden Rotary Club. He is chairman-elect of the Weber Economic Development Corp.
