NEW YORK — Tari Phillips scored 18 points Friday night as New York defeated the Orlando Miracle 70-57, the sixth straight victory for the Liberty.

The Liberty (19-10) extended their Eastern Conference lead over Cleveland to three games.

Liberty guard Teresa Weatherspoon broke her nose with 7:32 remaining when she and Shannon Johnson collided. Weatherspoon was briefly knocked unconscious was held overnight at a hospital for observation.

Adrienne Johnson had 14 points for Orlando (14-15), which lost its seventh consecutive game.

Becky Hammon added 15 points for New York (19-10), winners of 12 of 13.

FEVER 87, ROCKERS 75: At Indianapolis, Alicia Thompson scored 18 points to lead Indiana over Cleveland.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Indiana (8-21).

Stephanie McCarty scored 16 points for Indiana (16-13) and Kara Wolters added 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Rita Williams scored 10 points and dished out seven assists.

Merlakia Jones had 10 points and seven rebounds for Cleveland, and Chastity Melvin scored 10 points.

MONARCHS 74, LYNX 63: At Minneapolis, Yolanda Griffith scored 24 points and tied a season high with 17 rebounds as Sacramento clinched a playoff berth by beating Minnesota.

MYSTICS 96, SHOCK 72: At Washington, Murriel Page scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three blocks to lead Washington past Detroit.

SOL 60, STING 50: At Miami, Sheri Sam scored 21 points and Kristen Rasmussen added 14 as Miami beat Charlotte.

COMETS 81, FIRE 56: At Portland, Ore., Cynthia Cooper scored 26 points to lead Houston over Portland.
