Clifford Garrett Sorensen, 34, of West Valley City, UT, passed away Sunday, Aug 6, 2000 after a life long struggle with diabetes.
He was born December 12, 1965 in High Point, North Carolina, to John Clifford Sorensen Jr. and Rebecca Hiatt Sorensen. He attended elementary school in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, ID in 1984. He served an LDS mission in the Colorado Denver Mission in 1985-1987. He graduated in 1995 from Idaho State University in Business Finance with high honors. On November 11, 1995, he was joined in matrimony to his sweetheart Marilee Hatch in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was employed at Zions Bank and worked at the Midvale Branch as a Financial Services Representative. He previously worked at the Nevada State Bank in Henderson, NV.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Marilee; his parents, Cliff and Rebecca Sorensen of Sandy, UT; two sisters, Tonja Brown, of Sandy, UT, and Susan Garner, of Cedar City, UT; two brothers, Tracy and Chris Sorensen, both of Salt Lake City, UT; and his grandfather, John Clifford (Chris) Sorensen, Sr., of Idaho Falls, ID.
He will be remembered by his friends and loved ones for his wonderful sense of humor and his determination to overcome the obstacles caused by his illness.
Funeral services Wednesday, August 9, 1 p.m., Granger 14th Ward Chapel, 2101 West 3100 South. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and at the ward Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
