Cecil Richard Baker, 74, died Monday, August 7, 2000.

Richard was born February 7, 1926 to Henry Cecil and Edna Hatch Baker.

He graduated from Granite High School where he was especially proud to play basketball for his father, Coach Cec Baker. On June 19, 1947, he married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Paul, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Richard graduated from USU and continued his education at the University of Washington where he graduated in dentistry. He practiced orthodontics for 35 years in Logan, Utah.

He is survived by his wife, two sons: Richard Paul (Jackie) Baker, Mesa, AZ; Kevin Cecil (Elizabeth), Logan, Utah; four daughters, Colleen (Paul) Parker, Salt Lake City, Utah; Marti (Van) Stirland, Providence, Utah; Karen (Gary) Knighton, Providence, Utah; Cathy Rae (Brian) Crump, Tremonton, Utah. He has 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Dr. Maurice Baker, Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Catherine Van Skyhawk, Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dr. Drostan H. Baker, Idaho Falls, ID.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 11, 2000, at the Providence Utah 9th Ward, 309 South Main at 12 noon. Friends may call Thursday, August 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Allen Mortuary in Logan, Utah and Friday, August 11 from 10-11:30 am. at the Providence 9th Ward.
