LAIE, Hawaii — The first devotional of the winter semester at BYU-Hawaii on Jan. 11 officially launched BYU-Hawaii's "Keith and Carol Jenkins Matching Gift" fund-raiser as part of the Light of Hope campaign.

The campaign is the school's effort to raise $20 million for an endowed scholarship fund by the year 2005. In the matching gift fund-raiser, every dollar donated by students toward the scholarship fund will be matched with $9 from the Jenkinses. For every dollar donated by university alumni, faculty and staff, they will match with $4.

"One of my greatest hopes is that every student and full-time employee will be filled, even driven, by a sense of gratitude for what the Lord has done in this place," BYU-Hawaii President Eric Shumway said.
