On 9 Dec 2001, Melba Watson Ratcliffe Wells completed her time upon this Earth and passed over to the other side. She was surrounded by her family members whom all have been touched by her exemplar life.

Melba leaves: Wesley, her husband of 67 years (Married 17 Feb 1934, Sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1957), her children Shirlee Speer, James (Lyla), Gary (JoAnn), Dianne (Terry Mason); and a daughter-in-law Helen; 19 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; an infant daughter Dora Gwen; her son Wayne and all nine brothers and sisters precede her in death.

Melba was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions over the years, mostly involving music. Probably her favorite was Singing Mothers, a church women's choir which she directed for 15 years. Melba, who loved music, wrote a song for the Singing Mothers which they performed at Stake Conference. She also wrote other music, including her own music for the Lord's Prayer.

She will be missed by all her family, friends, and neighbors.

The services will be held Friday December 14th at 2 p.m. at the Grantsville Chapel for the 3rd and 7th Wards at 415 W. Apple St. There will be a viewing at the Chapel starting at 12 noon that same day.
