Rulon West Stephenson, age 88, passed away November 30, 2001 at his home sur-rounded by his loving family.

Born February 3, 1913 in Salt Lake City, UT to David Cobb and Minnie West Stephenson. Mar-ried Frances Ma-ry Allen on July 1, 1936; they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He served in the Utah National Guard 145th Field Artillery. When war was declared he was assigned to the US Army 230th Station Hospital. He was honorably discharged as Captain. Then he joined the Army Reserve and was Commanding Officer of the 6253rd Examining and Induction Station at Fort Douglas, UT. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve on February 3, 1973. He was a carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with his family.

Rulon is survived by his wife of 65 years; children, David Frank (Zora) Stephenson, Sharron Lee (Edward) Schneider, Rulene Ann (Dwight) Montgomery, and Janet Lynn (Danny) Wardle; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; stepsister Eleanor Zimmerman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 4th at 2 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Rd., Taylorsville, where friends may call on Monday from 7-9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Donations may be made in Rulon's name to your charity of choice. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
