Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Jennie Walker Halliday, age 97, passed away Febru-ary 6, 2001 in Salt Lake City.

Born August 28, 1903 in Provo, Utah to Solomon and Martha Ann Eyre Walker. Married George E. Halliday on June 23, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, he passed away Janu-ary 14, 1937. Jennie was a longtime resident of Murray, she retired in 1969 from Murray School District after 32 years of teaching elementary school. She has been an active member of the LDS Church and active in her community throughout her life. After her retirement she worked in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for over nine years and was a Pink Lady volunteer for ten years at Cottonwood Hospital. Her special interests have been in oil and watercolor painting and quilting. Her handiwork hangs on the walls and covers beds of many of her descendants.

She is survived by four children, George Vance (Lelia), Murray, Dr. Walker D. (Paul-ine), Modesto, CA, Robert Kent (Yvonne), Murray and Joyce (Newel) Standley, currently serving a mission in Scotland. 21 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emilie Greco.

Funeral services will be held Monday Feb. 12, 2001 at 12 noon in the Murray 1st Ward, 363 East Vine St. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St. and Monday at the church from 11 - 11:45 a.m.

Interment Murray City Cemetery.
