LAYTON--<! > Irene Gibbs Parker, 92, beloved and beautiful mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001 at the Apple Village Retirement Cen-ter, of causes inci-dent to age.

She was born June 2, 1908 in Brigham City, a daughter of Joseph Smith and Hulda Korth Gibbs. On June 11, 1930, Irene married Clayton Aaron Parker in Salt Lake LDS Temple. Clayton preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1997. She had lived in Harper Ward, Draper and North Ogden before moving to Layton. Irene was a member of the LDS Church where she served as Relief Society president, M.I.A. president, ward chorister, and was an Ordinance Worker in the Ogden Temple. Irene enjoyed quilting, singing, reading and gardening.

Surviving are two sons and four daughters, C. Gerald (Helen) Parker, Kaysville; Russell G. (Karen) Parker, Houston, Texas; Janet (Lincoln) Sorensen, Layton; Peggy (Karl) Miller, Sandy; Kathryn (John) Stevens, Bountiful; Colette (Mark Kim) Malan, Ogden; 32 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren. Irene is also survived by one sister, Norma (Irv) Stimpson, Ogden. Preceding her in death were three brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at one p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Ben Lomond/North Ogden Cemetery.
